About this deal

Embroidered Birds and their Habitats explores the author’s fascination with birds and the ways they interact with their surroundings. I chose a variegated embroidery thread from my stash ( DMC Coloris 4510) and used 2 of the 6 strands. She has written articles for various magazines and books, such as Masterworks and Inspirations , as well as having her book Embroidered Landscapes published by Sally Milner.

Inspiring and practical in equal measure, this book showcases dozens of Judy's lifelike finished embroideries alongside clear, practical advice. When I first read through the book, in fact, I had a hard time seeing it as a book of “hand embroidery techniques and inspiration.

I love making them, especially as I invested in a new sewing machine a couple of weeks ago (a wonderful Bernina) which is an absolute dream to work with.
